1. What building a website with AI actually is
This often gets confused with something it is not. Let me clear it up:
It is NOT:
- An "automatically generated" site at the click of a button
- Something that builds itself, without a human
- A cheap AI template like "Wix AI Designer"
- A robot that replaces an entire web development company
It IS:
A human working together with a language model. The web developer (me) describes to Claude (the AI model) what I want to achieve. Claude generates code, sections, content, suggestions. I evaluate, correct, combine it all, and test. Iteration after iteration, the website takes shape.
The result: what used to take 80 hours is now done in 25–35. With no compromise on quality — often with higher quality, because I have more time to perfect the details.
2. Claude by Anthropic — my working tool
I deliberately choose Claude as my main AI tool. It is a model from the American company Anthropic, based in San Francisco — one of the three largest AI labs in the world (alongside OpenAI and Google DeepMind).
Why Claude and not ChatGPT?
- Writes better code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP) — cleaner, fewer errors
- Understands context excellently — it remembers the whole project, doesn't forget after three messages
- Translates very well between Polish and German (and back) — preserving the nuances
- Anthropic puts safety first — ethical AI, without making up facts
- Helps a lot with copywriting — a natural, human tone
It is like the difference between a good and a very good professional saw — both cut, but you only trust one for a precision cut. Claude is my precision tool.
3. What AI specifically cuts, and by how much
Writing code — a 50–70% reduction
Instead of writing every line by hand, I describe a section: "A hero with a gradient background, a large H1, two CTAs — the first purple, the second WhatsApp." Claude generates the code in 30 seconds. I adjust the details, check responsiveness, optimize. A section that used to take 2 hours is done in 30 minutes.
Content (copywriting) — a 60% reduction
I brief it: "A Services section for a beauty salon, professional but warm tone, 6 services, each description 30–40 words." First draft in a minute. I edit, add the client's character, verify the substance. Instead of 4 hours for 6 descriptions — one hour.
PL → DE translations — an 80% reduction
An entire site in Polish → AI translates it into German in 5 minutes. I read it, fix the idioms, verify the technical terms. Traditionally this is a translator's job worth 800–2,000 PLN. With AI plus my review — a small surcharge of a few dozen złoty.
SEO and meta tags — a 70% reduction
AI generates the title, description, keywords, heading structures, and JSON-LD. I check it and tailor it to the client's specific keywords.
Graphics — a partial reduction
Here it is more nuanced. Image generators (Midjourney, DALL·E) deliver unique illustrations, icons, and backgrounds. But they won't take a photo of your product or your team. For many projects this is 40–60% faster and cheaper than a professional graphic designer.
4. Why quality goes up, not down
Intuitively: "if AI does in an hour what used to take three — surely the quality drops"? Quite the opposite. Here's why:
I have more time for what I care about
By cutting the "mechanical" work (writing code, rough draft text), I save hours — which I pour into the details: animations, micro-interactions, UX polish, testing on 5 devices. These are the things that make the difference between "average" and "stunning".
Fewer errors
Claude writes code that statistically has fewer bugs than a human writing under time pressure. Because it doesn't get tired, doesn't rush, and never has a "bad day". Like a good reviewer — it catches typos, missing semicolons, illogical variable names.
Better content
Claude helps me write in 3 styles at once: emotional (hero), technical (FAQ), educational (blog). Every client gets content tuned to the tone of their brand — faster than if I wrote everything myself.
Best practices "in the package"
Claude knows modern standards: semantic HTML, accessibility (WCAG), Core Web Vitals, schema.org, hreflang. I might sometimes forget the alt attribute on an image — Claude reminds me automatically.
5. What AI will never replace
This is crucial — because anyone who says "AI replaces everything" is selling you something. The real list:
Business strategy
AI doesn't know who your client is, what your competition isn't doing, or what your unique selling point is. That is a conversation between a human (me) and a human (you).
Empathy and understanding
A client says: "I'd like the site to feel a bit more... warm." AI doesn't know what that means for your industry. A human understands the context, asks follow-up questions, picks up on what's left unsaid.
Accountability
If the site goes down on a Saturday, if a client has a legal issue with their Impressum, if a shop loses sales — a human answers for it. AI won't pick up the phone at 10 p.m. I will.
Testing in the real world
Does the form work on an iPhone 12 mini with an old version of Safari? Does Google Maps render in Edge on Windows 7? Does the WhatsApp button catch your finger on a small screen? That has to be checked by hand. AI suggests — a human verifies.
Security and compliance
GDPR, Impressum, Datenschutz, terms and conditions, privacy policy — a mistake costs thousands of euros. AI generates templates, but the final responsibility rests with a human. A consultation with a lawyer stays, regardless of AI.
6. Who an AI website is best for
A perfect fit:
- Micro-businesses and sole traders — they want quality but don't have a 20,000 PLN budget
- Startups — they need an MVP fast and cheaper iterations
- Tradespeople — they need a site that works locally and brings in clients
- Beauty salons, gastronomy, local services — a site with booking, a gallery, reviews
- Polish businesses in Germany — they need a bilingual site, fast and professional
Less of a fit:
- Large corporations with 20-person marketing teams — they prefer agencies with 5 layers of management
- Very narrowly specialized projects with extreme business logic (e.g. banking systems, ERP)
- Clients who want a "brand like Apple" with 4 months of strategic research and 6 people on the creative team — I'm too small for projects like that
7. The myth of the "free website from ChatGPT"
"Why should I pay for a website when I can just ask ChatGPT and paste the code in myself?" A very good question. Honest answer:
You can. You really can. ChatGPT or Claude will generate the code for a simple site. You can throw it onto GitHub Pages or free hosting. But:
- You won't know what to fix when something stops working
- SEO won't do itself — you have to know what to look for
- The site will look "like an AI site from 2024" — generic, with no character
- Hosting, the domain, GDPR, email forms — all of that has to be sorted out
- When a client reports "something isn't working" — you're on your own for maintenance
- You'll lose 2 weeks of your life fighting with something a specialist does in 3 days
It is like the difference between "I can renovate the kitchen myself" and "I'll hire a professional". Yes, you can. But sometimes it's worth paying someone who does it every day — because you'll finish faster, better, and without the stress.
8. What comes next — AI in 2027 and 2028
A short forecast, based on what is already visible in the industry:
- Sites increasingly generated "on the fly" — different content for different users, powered by AI
- Chatbots based on Claude/GPT built into every website as standard
- SEO shifting toward the "AI Overview" — Google's AI generates answers from your content before anyone even clicks
- UI personalization — the site adapts its appearance to the user's preferences
- Cheaper and better sites will become the standard — the advantage of a "good website" disappears once everyone has one. Then you'll win by who you are and the value you deliver.
FAQ — frequently asked questions
Is an AI-built website technically worse than a "classic" one?
No. Often it is technically better — cleaner code, more best practices, more polished details. AI does not replace a web developer — it amplifies one.
Do clients know the website was "made with AI"?
If I tell them — they know. If I don't — they won't notice. The site looks like any other well-made site. The difference is in price and time — not in the final look.
Won't AI make all websites look identical in two years?
No — the opposite. In the past, off-the-shelf templates made thousands of salons look identical. AI lets me generate unique layouts in 1 day where it once took 2 weeks. Individuality becomes cheaper, not more expensive.
Is it safe — AI in my business?
AI is a tool, not a threat. It is your data, your domain, your hosting — AI only helps create them. Just as a computer helps an accountant and Word helps a writer.
How much does an AI website cost in 2026?
A business website built with AI: 2,500–8,000 PLN (PL) / 700–2,500 € (DE). The same thing without AI runs to 8,000–25,000 PLN. Full pricing: How much does a website cost in 2026.
